Watching Mad Men (the golden age of advertising) you're struck by the high amount of cigarette smoking.
There's a scene in one of the Series 2 episodes Dan's boss Roger Sterling complains "No one under 25 drinks coffee anymore, just Pepsi. They pour it on their Frosted Flakes." Amusing for todays coffee fueled modern times.
This project - "You and the 52" explores inline brand engagement (integration of online and offline marketing) or multichannel communications.
What I want to explore with this blog project is "real person & brand" type of thing that's getting a lot of interest and discussion in the online social media marketing and advertising space
Brands are increasingly looking at how to engage online audiences through social media channels (increasing influence on buying behaviour) BUT as you may know, social media is a bit anti advertising, so, the images are less of direct sell and more very subtle product placement - nearly candid shots that just so happen to include the product.
The key element here to create/ need to tell a story that hooks to the brand experience. It's a personal statement, the "attitude" less to do with external motivations and more personal and internal.
In 50 years time the deeply concerned minority will be shocked that today we drink coffee everyday.
