Your Reputation is EverythingPosted by: Administrator in MyBlog on Dec 30, 2010 Tagged in: Untagged

The world is an increasingly highly competitive global marketplace and if the communities experience is consistently bad then we look for other options.
In business there are only really three basic things you can differentiate - product (ie you); price (dropping price is nearly always a self defeating strategy) and your service.
Service: We all hate wasting time (is a limited resource excluding metaphysics and quantum theory ) - anyway - most accept poor service and running late as the norm whether business people, doctors, dentists, hairdressers, coffee shops or tradesmen.
The single easiest thing anyone can do to differentiate from the masses (competitors) is value your customers, staff and suppliers time - ie deliver ON (not above or below) agreements and expectations.
As you know in todays digital world everyone and everything is connected - every online conversation, transaction, experience and feedback stored in perpetuity to be indexed, aggregated, searched and recalled.
Consequently, today and as ever throughout history, your reputation is EVERYTHING - it is how people remember you and spread your [brand] influence.
Protect it with your life.
From an Internet perspective it is how we help determine trust - from Ebay rankings and comments, hotel and restaurant reviews to Twitter Follower influence and social media conversations.
Who do you want walking in your door - the discount coupon customer or the customer referred by another valued connection.
What's your reputation? What are your customers, suppliers and staff saying about you?
