Scott Maxworthy is CEO of Max Media and Entertainment (maxys.com.au) and Chief Experience Officer of the CLIVE video Project.
Digital Media Strategist, ex-Publican and PC Technology Veteran
43 year old Scott has been involved with personal computer technology since his early teens - he was developing spreadsheet macros over 30 years ago!
His professional career in the mid 1980's following his father Peter into finance with Kerry Packers' Consolidated Press - Australia's largest media empire at the time.
From investments he then moved into marketing with the world's fasting growing personal computer reseller franchise network "ComputerLand".
Within a couple of years he was IBM Product Marketing Manager - managing a $150m product portolio.
In the early 90's, he took off to UK to explore new "multimedia computing" and teamed up with a Scottish entrepreneur launching a CD-ROM based advertising industry creative directory.
That business was sold to a major publishing company in less than eighteen months.
On return to Australia he provided new media consulting services to Corporate and Government, had a quick stint with an advanced technology division of Telstra , then left the corporate world to take over management of the Intersection Tavern at Ramsgate, in Sydney with his family.
It was at the pub he developed and honed his customer centric approach to business and developed a unique understanding of community engagement (think offline social media).
In November 1999 the hotel was sold and in April 2001, Scott; his father Peter, a builder and a plumber co-founded BANGitUP.com, an internet portal for the $141b Australian Building and Construction Industry.
Over the next seven years BANGitUP grew to over 75,000 builders and trades listed and was a leader in C2B - Consumer to Trade Search services; and the development of online Collaborative Infrastructure Lifecycle for the building and construction sector.
In 2007 the business was sold with the sudden passing away of Peter Maxworthy.
In 2008 Scott relaunched Max Media and began consulting to businesses interested in digital media strategy and online social marketing.
In July 2008, Max Media formed a joint venture, "The CLIVE Video Project" with Ridge Films to provide website presenters.
In July 2010, Max Media formed a joint venture with the Arena Sports Marketing Group to focus on Fan Retention Engagement and Development ("FRED") for sport and major brand clients.
