You get a great deal of satisfaction from watching people enjoy your work or craft - it's a bit like the chef watching his/ her customers enjoy a meal; the shaper watching his star grommet rip apart the waves on his new board or the proud parents of a new born child. In many ways it's about creating and shareing the experience.

From a band point of view - your audience dancing, singing and having a good time.

The Maxys have been performing together now for over 20 years - that's a lot of good times.

Photography Technical: Apologies - the composition is a bit rough. Being "in the band" and "the photographer" meant I needed to shoot individually and then merge the shot together. We were also pressed for time so the shoot was between band sets in a mall outside the venue (outside Franklins at Cronulla) and this pic was needed yesterday for a poster for a gig down the coast. The closet thing to a clear background were the steel shutters from one of the shops. These backgrounds had to be deleted, the images scaled to size based upon perspective and then effects added. Love a deadline.

Dragons win NRL Race to 10,000

The St George Illawarra Dragons have tonight been declared joint winners of the Race to 10,000 Ticketed Members with South Sydney prior to kick-off in the 27th annual Charity Shield match at Homebush.

Dragons ambassador Wendell Sailor issued ‘Big Dell’s 10K Challenge’ at the end of 2010, encouraging all Red V fans to become true supporters of their favourite club and reach the 10,000 ticketed member mark. Sailor says that this achievement proves that the St George Illawarra supporters truly understand the important role they play in the success of their club.

Tis a beautiful day - we get up early, head down for a swim; back home for breakfast then back down the beach again to read the Sunday papers for a few hours.

I experiment with the equipment and workflow I'll be taking to Bali at the end of next month - this shot, from camera to PC and upload, a couple of minutes. Yes, can do that instantly on the iphone but this at the professional end.
