EFFECTIVE WEB COMMUNICATION

Today mMartin Davison on Saxost of us as "buyers" begin by asking a friend or at a search engine. For web search the top three links are the most critical.

On arriving at a site the first 12.5 seconds is the most critical - where's the relevant information?

The key to effective web communication is to deliver relevant answers quickly and engage your visitor.

The aim is to get cut through, have a bit of fun, make an impression and stand out from the crowd - It's Seth Godin's Purple Cow approach.

  • Promote your website address easy to remember, say/ spell and spread and relevant?
  • The ideal is to have the search term within your website address
  • Embed your website address in your marketing collateral - eg "bring your website alive with CLIVE", "Maximise your web with Maxys".
  • Use CLIVE to direct users to key areas
  • Entertain to inform

SENATOR CONROY AT NATIONAL PRESS CLUB ON THE NBN

The future of the Internet is video - it is estimated 95% of Australia's new proposed National Broadband Network (NBN) traffic will be video.

You will find video will become increasingly important to effective communication - not just locally but in targeting potential international customers.

This means all of us will have to increasingly "think video" as part of our communications approach whether from selling, providing service, hiring, education, employee communications, prp

Digital Ministry is the meeting place of Australia's Digital Media and Marketing Community. It's goal is to generate conversation within the community, to share unbiased opinion and ideas so that we may benefit as a whole.
Digital Ministry also lets you post jobs, events, directory listings and become an industry Champion. And another thing advertising jobs, events and directory listings is 100% free.

Senator Christine Milne on BCA website

Senator Christine Milne (first Australian CLIVE Politician), Deputy Leader of the Greens shows support for the Builders Collective Australia's fight against the Last Resort Home Owners Warranty Rort. A 10% increase in Construction Industry productivity would = 2% increase in GDP.

The ABC 7.30 Report is currently editing a story which will spotlight this issue.

Iggy Pintado - Book launch Connection Generation

One of Australia's most influential and Internet connected speakers and author Iggy Pintado tops the CLIVE list with an incredible 18% Click Thru Rate on his videos for the launch of his new book Connected Generation.

The average across all our client video clips is 4% - about 10x more effective than conventional banners and click through images.

We also launched a Youtube version on the clip as an attractor.


IN THE PIPELINE

REAL ESTATE CLIVE

Last Monday we shot 15 x CLIVE 15 second clips and 3 x customer testimonial interviews on location for a Real Estate client in Wollongong. Each optimised page within their website will feature a meet and greet clip by the relevant Real Estate Agent. The aim of the clips is to put a face to the agent, build trust and reinforced by customer testimonials.

Website to go live in July.

PRODUCT DEMONSTRATION CLIVE

Last Friday we shot our first CLIVE product demonstration clips. We managed to take a five minute product demonstration and cut that down to very sharp, effective one minute scripts and demos. Production to go live in next few weeks.  Customer attention is scarce - value their time.

E-BOOKS ALIVE with CLIVE

I remember first looking at e-book technology over 15 years ago - concept was great but ahead of it's time. Then Adobe released PDF's which fundamentally changed the creation and distribution of documents online but. in essence still much the same - just text, graphics and hyperlinks.

All changed now - E-Books now alive with CLIVE (and video) - will keep you posted.

Last but not least, a plug for the video production engine of CLIVE and Max Media - the new CLIVE clip for the guys at RidgeFilms. You'll notice we're doing a lot more 1/2 body clips - we're finding these are very effective.

Ridge can provide both "out of the box" [CLIVE] and "in the box" video production.

First Aussie Pollie Goes Live with CLIVE

Digital Mash Up - Senator Christine Milne and BCA website

Yesterday, we launched our first Australian Federal Politician CLIVE video of Senator Christine Milne, Deputy Leader of the Greens on the Builders Collective Australia website.

Senator Milne is the first Australian Politician to embrace CLIVE and it really brings the website (and issue of Last Resort Home Owners Warranty) to life.

Next week, prior to an ABC 7.30 Report a personalised email will ask all Federal and State politicians in Australia the simple question "Do you support the dumping of the privatised Mandatory Builders Warranty schemes?"

The net result should see considerable media exposure of the issue and also awareness of CLIVE as a very effective website communication tool.

Note: We've already had enquires from other politicians across the country.

Good opportunity for CLIVE Partners as Government needs to spend their budgets before end of year.

Bravo - the New Black - 1.5m video plays in a day.

Last week our US guys ran a campaign for BravoTV - the New Black.  I'll need to get the final stats but something like 1.5m video plays in one day of an interactive video to banner clip appearing on sites such as New York Mag, In Style, Perez Hilton and New York Post.

The Maxys Party Band

The Maxys Party Band
I wanted to demonstrate how CLIVE can be used for any band or performer. From a marketing perspective we will be using this to indirectly target events managers, clubs and pubs and the music/ entertainment industry.

This was our first attempt at multi shoot composites - ie combining four individual shoots to create a single composite video.

We will also be exporting the clip to Youtube (added value CLIVE service) for online social book marketing distribution.

We shot the third part of the CLIVETV Customer Interviews last Thursday. One of key insights to come out of the interviews was that CLIVE is seen as an "essential" element to effective online customer engagement, equal to website SEO (Search Engine Optiminisation) - ie high ranking on Google.
